Dinosaurs & Family Field Trip *April 22-May 3*

Are you looking for fun Dino Themed Math & Language Activities?
View our printable set with over 15 math and language activities to use with your preschooler.
We have had a busy last couple of weeks!  It has been extremely stormy and rainy here in our area, so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors enjoying the fresh air when it isn't raining or storming.

We have been learning all about dinosaurs.  Math & language, Sight words & more all using this fun theme!

One of the highlights of the week was watching the workers putting on a new roof across the street.  This lead to a lot of questions and even more answers.
We have enjoyed using bubble wrap to make prints for our dinosaur skin, we've made puppets, and did a dinosaur dig!

One of the things I love about working with preschoolers is all of the fun games that we play to incorporate everyday learning activities.  We have done matching, and counting, pretend play, and even pretended to be dinos!

Earth day was a blast!  It's always fun to celebrate our earth and make a few fun crafts & treats that represent our beautiful planet.

Friday was our Spring Family Field Trip!!!  The highlight of each school year!  Where our parents attend with their little ones for a fun adventure to a kid friendly location.  This year was the Dallas Children's Aquarium.  We were supposed to go the Dallas Zoo for the dino exhibit, but sadly the weather wasn't forecasted to cooperate.

The aquarium was so cute and perfect for our preschool aged group.  Their favorite part was touching the sting rays & Checking out the huge tank with the turtle.
It was a fun day!!!

Easter Fun *April 15-19 *2019*

It has been a long while since I have blogged about my preschool class, but I will just pick right up like I have been doing it all along.  I post daily on social media, but so many parents do not have any social media, I want them to get a chance to see their little ones and the fun activities that we are up to.
This week we celebrated 2 birthdays with a fun Mermaid party.  Unfortunately here in Texas it has been pretty rainy and stormy lately.  We ended up having to have our Easter Egg Hunt indoors due to the weather, but it was still so fun.

Clouds, & Rhyming Freebie (March 5-9)

This was such a great week!  We have been working on Rhyming!  And goodness I have such a smart class.  They caught on so fast.  I would throw out a word and they would throw back a word that perfectly rhymed.  It wasn't even something that we had practiced in the past.  We have read books that rhymed, but we haven't formally practiced rhyming.   They have been doing fantastic.  For my readers that aren't familiar I have a class that is roughly ages 3-5.  I have a couple of 2's, but mostly 3-5's.  and boy are they some smart cookies!

Since we worked on Rhyming I whipped up some fun and colorful cards for matching that we used this week.  We played memory, we matched them together, we used them at circle time with a fun little poem that I created. And we also just named the picture and words that we saw on the cards.  Pick up your free download below and print it out so that you can use it with your kiddos.

The link to this fun little rhyming cards are right here ---->>>Click Here FREE DOWNLOAD
You can use these cute little Rhyming cards in your classroom (like I did) or at home with your preschool aged child or toddler.  If you are doing home preschool and just want to practice rhyming.

Of course we had plenty of playtime!  Because we ARE kids and we learn best through play and it's just plain FUN!  The light bright has been the hit the last couple of weeks and it hasn't been put into storage yet.  As long as it is a hit we will keep it into our rotation.

Spring is here!  And the kids have discovered ROLLY POLLIES!!!  They have been bringing them to us by the drones.  Those and Dandelions.  We are good on those 2 things until next spring.  But we love to see them exploring the outdoors and collecting and learning about the environment that nature has provided us.  We have also discovered a few frogs and a garden snake.  It has been a active spring so far.

We did a pretty amazing cloud experiment!  We spent all last week learning about clouds.  All of our kiddos learned that a cloud is a bunch of tiny water droplets grouped together.  We warmed a bar of Ivory soap in the microwave for about 2 min. in a microwave safe dish and it puffed up into a soft fluffy cloud looking substance.

Each of our students got a chance to see the soap before the process, feel, and smell the soap and predict what would happen.  They also all got a chance to see the process during the microwaving.

ONLY 1 child took a bite of the soap!  And it was pretty amazing to hear their predictions and see the reactions on their faces!

It was such a fun fun week!  We took a walk to the park since the weather was so beautiful.  Here is our selfie. (I am horrible at taking selfies)

The kids had a great time!

Have a happy weekend rest of your weekend! (Even though its already Sunday evening...Yikes!)

Dr Seuss Week Feb 26- Mar 2

February has come and gone in a flash!  We have had such a busy week learning and celebrating Dr. Seuss and all the amazing books he has written that we could get our hands on. We read Green Eggs & Ham, The cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish, Wacky Wednesday, and many more!

Our T&TH group got a chance to sample Green eggs & Ham after listening to the Story. After the story they all celebrated Sam I am eating AND liking the green eggs and ham.  We talked about who would take a try of the green eggs and ham and how they may like them just like Sam I am did.

Oh my what a funny experience.  Only 3 of our students actually liked the green eggs.  Some of the students didn't even try the eggs, even though the children like eggs they wouldn't even taste them because they were green.  It was so funny to watch all of the children and the expressions that they had on their faces.  It was interesting to see and listen to what they had to say regarding the situation.  Some of the children were saying how disgusting they were, some were saying the green eggs were delicious, and some would dare not even give it a try.

We did a lot of neat Cat and the Hat activities this week too! We worked on AB pattern by putting red & white stripes on the Cats hat, we also practiced sight words, Cat, The, Hat.  We worked on fine motor skills and AB patterns stacking red and white cups and paper in our really fun STEM activity.

We spent some time this week working on our weekly writing skills, language arts, math, Alliteration, and more oh and most of all PLAYING.  I love to see our preschoolers  learning and growing!  It was a great week!
